REx Biomedical Session 2: July 19 - 31

REx Environmental Health and Toxicology: July 19 - 31

The REX program is an advanced introduction to research science. From basic science research to the development of new applications, therapies, and technologies, students learn how research scientists and engineers contribute new knowledge and innovative approaches to tackle societal issues. Students visit active research laboratories and facilities, attend discussions highlighting current research at UF, and participate in hands-on activities and experiments with leading UF research faculty and graduate students. 

In the Biomedical program you’ll explore biomedical sciences, from discovery-based research to clinical therapeutics. You will learn advanced experimental techniques, including DNA science, protein science, CRISPR, and more. 

In the Enviromental Health and Toxicology program you will investigate the impacts of air and water pollutants on human health and innovative solutions to mitigate their effects. You will study topics from the epidemiology of disease to conservation and ecology through field work and experimental techniques, including environmental DNA analysis, bioinformatics, and toxicology testing!

How to Apply: 

Please read ALL of the Applications Instructions when you start your application! Applicants must create an account in our online application portal in order to apply for any student programs offered by UF CPET. The online application portal is www.ufcpet.smapply.us. Use your own email address and name to create your application, DO NOT use your parent/guardian's email or name! You will need to add a parent/guardian later in the process. All components are submitted using the online application process unless noted. Please read all of the Application Instructions section once you have started your application.

Program Fees:

Application fee: $35.00

Program Cost: $2500

All interested and qualified students are encouraged to apply regardless of ability to pay. Limited, need-based scholarships are available for students attending a Florida high school. You will need to have a parent/guardian fill out a Financial Aid application as part of the application process, a link to the application is found in the Application Fee task in the application. Application reviews, and invitations to attend the program are sent before reviewing Financial Aid requests.
